NASHVILLE - Tennessee’s unemployment rate for the month of April is 5.4 percent, up 0.3 percentage point from the seasonally adjusted March rate of 5.1 percent, Commissioner of Labor & Workforce Development James Neeley announced today. The national unemployment rate for April is 4.7 percent, the same as the March rate.

State unemployment drops to 5.4%; still above U.S. rate

Tennessee’s unemployment rate dropped to 5.4 percent in April, but it remains above the national rate, according to figures released by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development this afternoon.
