I’m poking my head above water here briefly to note some very important news:

They’ve chosen someone to play Le Chiffre in Casino Royale: Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. It’s an odd but interesting choice. In the book, Fleming described him as being “fat and pale” – characterizing him as an older agent whose main vices were physical: namely, food and prostitutes. This guy looks like he should be on the cover of Metrosexual Weekly.

I am beginning to lose hope that this movie will be the different, artsy, truer-to-the-book, dark movie I was hoping (with absolutely no provocation or justification whatsoever) it would be.
