From Cracked, via Rev:

In the film [V for Vendetta], the anarchist revolutionary V incites the population of Britain to don his mask and rise up against the government, because nothing captures the spirit of anarchy better than a mob of people in identical uniforms unquestioningly obeying one man.

One of a number of places where the movie did something utterly nonsensical to the original graphic novel. (The only person who dressed like V other than V in the original was, ironically, the only person who didn’t in the movie, really – Evey.)

The movie was entertaining if you didn’t think too hard, or really at all, about it. I’d stick to the GN.
