agenda

Roger has an amusing take on the Kopp/Hobbs/cartoon thing. (I vote that we start calling this Hobbsgate.) I intend to respond to it in some capacity – not because I think Roger is entirely off target, but because in general I think what has not been sufficiently addressed is specifically what was offensive and/or dangerous about Hobbs’ cartoon. But right now I am a little hungover, and I have bigger matters to attend to. To wit, today’s agenda:

  • Finish this cup of coffee
  • Strap our NEW BIKES to the car and:
  • Head to my folks’ place for a traditional easter dinner
  • 7-lb beef tenderloin on the grill is a traditional easter dinner, right?
  • Take some pictures with my camera

Dear God, no. No “-gate”. Please. “HobbsKnobbed”, yes. “Billy-goaded”, yes. “Keystone Kopp Affair”, yes. But “—–gate” is just too derivative.

Now, come on. Think big, here. It’s very meta. Count the number of times Bill blogged about *-gate. Not to mention Bus-Gate, which he coined.

It’s mocking and it’s funny. Sorry, I declare it. It’s HobbsGate.
