wow
01 Apr 2006I’ve never been called a “pussy city boy” before.
I’m assuming.. There’s a special amusement in seeing someone be crass enough to call someone else a “pussy city boy”, but not enough to actually spell out “pussy”. Because, you know. That would be obscene.
You know, I really don’t understand Christian libertarians. The basic idea seems to be something like “we have to be ruled, so let’s choose the biggest, most dominating master (God) and reject all others.”
Similar stances to actual libertarians, for almost completely opposite reasons.
He might have been saying “pissy city boy”, which is actually true. I guess we’ll never know.

Speaking as a Christian libertarian, I’d say you’ve got it about right. Slightly less nuanced than I’d choose, but correct in the main.
I guess he was too much of a pussy to spell out “pussy”.
All of the Christian Libertarians crack me up as well. “We believe in freedom and liberty, except of course after we die, then we will all live in a cult-of-personality autocratic monarchy.”
we will all live in a cult-of-personality autocratic monarchy
As will you. Only yours will be hotter. And have snakes. Probably.
There may be many things to be said against atheism - I’m not an atheist anyway, I’m an anti-theist. It would be horrible if it were true that we were designed and then created and then continuously supervised throughout all our lives waking and sleeping and then continue to be supervised after our deaths - if that were true, it would be horrible. I’m very glad there’s absolutely no evidence for it at all. It would be like living in a celestial North Korea. You can’t defect from North Korea but at least you can die. With monotheism they won’t let you die and get away from them. It’s the wish to be a slave. Who wants that to be true? It’s demanding the servile condition.
–Christopher Hitchens
Yay! I almost posted that quote, but I couldn’t find it..
I think maybe she was talking about Central America. Sarcastro seems like he might try to pull an Allie Fox one of these days.
Everything we need is here. Right here. We can live simply: gardening, beach combing. I’m a changed man, mother. No more chemicals or poisons. If what you want isn’t washed up on this beach, you probably don’t need it.

As much as I love Hitch (especially is expose of Mother Theresa…seriously…), the good man always misses the point about the relationship some of us have forged with God. Yes, I’m aware that you all think me slightly addled for this and that’s fine. Yet there it is. I am in a relationship of love and respect. Something about the yoke being easy and the burden light…..
Eh well. It’ll all sort out in the end. Meantime, Hitch has his liquor, I have my God and the rest of you have your own comforts.
You have struck me as many things over the years - ‘pussy city boy’ was not one of them. I’m not even sure what that means - isn’t living in a city more like living on the ‘edge’ than someone who does not. It seems an oxymoron to me.
No, no, no I’m pretty sure I called you one at that crappy bar in Florida.
Well, I know I called our waitress a skank. There were alot of names being bandied around that evening. Who can keep track?

Is that what “p—–y” meant?!?
