musings

I haven’t been posting much, I know. I just figured my limited readership might quickly grow tired of the “OMG MOVING SUCKS” posts, followed by the “OMG UNPACKING SUCKS. SERIOUSLY.” posts.

I have a few musings:

  • I can’t put my finger on it, but something about young couples with lots of kids bug me. I am starting to understand the derogatory slang “Breeders”. I see these 20-somethings meeting up at the Dairy Dip, with their 16 blonde-haired tykes, all outfitted in Baby Gap and Old Navy, with their Kayaks strapped to the roof of their hybrid sport wagon and I find myself wondering: if you reach this particular social strata, shouldn’t you have a responsibility to do something other than pop out babies?
  • I think a lot of people become parents solely to exercise a limited form of unregulated fascism in their personal lives.
  • When (if?) I ever have kids, I will probably adopt.

Is it really young people with kids that bother you or just the upper middle class?

Hm. I am not sure. I think it’s a little of both.

Think of those kids as your future benefactors (via Social Security).

As if the upper middle class pay tax commensurate with their rake off.
