real cowboys

real cowboys

These girls are taking a trip across America and they think these guys are real cowboys. In Nashville. Oh, girls. If only Nashville had real cowboys. If only. They probably bought those cowboy hats at Opry Mills.

Yeah. We actually do have cowboys hereabouts (Oklahoma, particularly rural Oklahoma, which surrounds my college town), of course, but they are rarely, uh, in uniform, or whatever. I mean, I have friends that raise cattle, and never wear those bloody hats. (Now, boots, yes, because there’s actually practical reasons. But the hats… I think you’re probably more likely to see baseball caps.)

That isn’t to say that cowboy chic doesn’t occur a lot here, too.

The joke in my family is that you can identify a real cowboy in a bar by asking to see the shit on his boots.

Those hats are obviously dress-up hats, anyway. It looks like they have on their dress Wranglers, too.

fuck all the gay ass cowboys

Contrary to what some people think, there are some “real” cowboys in Tennessee. I work on a horse ranch south of Nashville. While there are a lot of posers here, there are also a lot of “real” cowboys that occasionally go to the downtown Nashville honky-tonks for good music and drink. Don’t judge people until you talk to them and find out what it is they do. (P.S…my boots have gone through all kinds of horse and cattle shit..ha!)

Thank You I am from Tennessee and I am both a cowboy and a farmer (thats right you can be both).I grew up on a tobacco farm and Ive worked with nearly every type of cattle there are and Ive been riding cowhorses since I was a kid (Im now 32).Im a trained calf roper and Ive penned, cut, sorted, branded, castrated, dehorned, doctored, assisted in calving and done nearly every type of cow or horse work there is and still found time to raise corn, rake hay and raise vegetables and grow tobacco.Ive never been to the Lone Star state and I dont feel I have to go there to prove myself. No offense to any Texans but if it hadnt been for Davey Crockett and his Tennessee Volunteers Texas would most likely be part of the Republic of Mexico and you cool cowboys would be wearing huge sombreros instead of stetsons

woohoo i love a real cowboy lol

What areas are we talking about in Tennessee and Oklahoma? Ive been all over and never the tourist sites. I always try and go to local places to see the “real” sites. Ive never seen a real cowboy, cowboy bar, etc… I’m all about the jeans, boots and farm life and would love to see those sites as they are intended to see.

Those aren’t real cowboys. I’m from the Lubbock area and I know some guys that work on ranches. A real cowboy will be dressed in Cinch, not wrangler. And they will hav dirty square toe boots with dirty spurs. And they do hav cowboy hats. But not straw, but a felt hat with about 3 layers of dirt on it LOL

@Tim wel without Mexico there wouldn’t be no cowboy

The first cowboys were Spaniards in Florida that rounded up floridas wild cow called a cracker or scrub cow then Seminoles became the dominant cowboys and about 1800 to present day it has been Cracker cowboys, so screw Mexico!!!

no the first cowboys worked in the flat prarie lands of spain…when they conquered mexico they brought horses and cattle which which also brought  the charro culture to states like jalisco… and a charro is a traditional cowboy which has roots  coming particularly from spain and from there they taught indians and meztizos which are half spainiard and half native mexican indian into work on ranches which developed into the vaquero (cowboy) culture in northern mexico and is the culture that started the modern western cowboy culture and you are right about florida but they had no ties or wer nothing simular 2 modern western cowboy culture cuz vaqueros from southwest united states and northern mexico and they started all western styles of riding……cowboy clothing…. and ranching tecniques…besides i went 2 florida a couple of times and they have NO COWBOYS so y do u think the border states with mexico and also mexican states like chihuahua, durango, coahuila, and jalisco still have huge cattle ranches and REAL COWBOYS ????

I wish there were cowboys in Indiana. I love to watch them work!
