My Disgust Triggers Stupid CNN Article

Dear CNN,

Regarding your recent article about “sexy music” and teen sex, quoting “researchers” with the RAND Corporation and a magazine.

Study: Sexy music triggers teen sex

CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) – Teens whose iPods are full of music with raunchy, sexual lyrics start having sex sooner than those who prefer other songs, a study found.

Correlation does not equal causation.

Sincerely,
Chris

Yeah, that’s perfect. The vastly more obvious supposition – and it too would still be only that – would be that teens who’re having sex are as a consequence likely to put some “sexy music” on their iPods (at least, more than those who are not.) But because it is stunningly reasonable to suppose that, it ain’t news.

Or even that teens who are relatively less inhibited/less self-controlled are more likely both to listen to transgressive/offensive music and have sex earlier.

You both sound like Tipper Gore.

Our consumerist society tells kids sex is cool from a very tender age via advertising.

But, even considering that, back when we were cavepeoples, sex at a teens age was a survival trait for our genes.

So, what age is acceptable for intercourse? When did you first have sex? Would you recommend it for people who are the same age now as you were then?

It’s a controversial, emotional issue. Biologically, if sex is meant for reproduction, then … wow … look how young it can be.

More on topic … music and sex? Rock and roll is about fucking.
