Wears Valley

We have returned from the mountains, uneaten by bears.

Well, actually, we returned this morning, after a leisurely drive back. My left arm is nicely tan and my right arm is nearly translucent (Trucker Tan). We capped off the trip by going to a spa, where Amanda got a facial and I had a deep-tissue massage for the first time. That’s all I have for now. Pictures from the trip can be found here.

Where’d you go? Looks like you’re about 10 minutes from my house.

We were at the north end of Wears Valley, basically right between Pigeon Forge and Sevierville on 321.. The place was called Dogwood Farms..

I actually thought about putting out the last-minute APB for east-TN bloggers, but we needed some serious secluded decompression time.. But we’ll be back out there for sure – it’s gorgeous..

Yup, you were just up the street.

Dammit, I paid those damn bears up front!

Want a job done right, gotta do it yourself…

Is that where you guys were headed when I saw you on Saturday?

Heh.. No, we left on Sunday.. I think we were en-route to wal-mart to buy supplies..

I know just about where you were, probably near the road that goes over to Greenbriar school/Metcalf Bottoms. If you ever go again, there’s a nearby trailhead that takes you on a great, short hike (about a mile each way and very flat) to the Walker Sisters cabin, which is a very cool place.

Whoops. Scratch that. I’m thinking south end. But you still oughta go. :-)
