multi-county drill

Via the MNPS, just a heads up that there’s a multi-county disaster drill today:

Metro Schools are involved in a disaster drill April 7-8. There may be reports of simulated events that are part of this drill. The two-day drill includes multiple scenarios and involves numerous agencies. None of these are real events. Please note that children are safe and having a normal school day.

So if you see any maniacs running around the streets of downtown, yelling “WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE”, that’s just me. I’ll have forgotten it’s a drill by then.

UPDATE: It works. The new Metro Deafness-Inducing Siren works. I went to get my umbrella and was waltzing past the siren on 1st right as it went off. Pretty cool, huh? Huh? WHAT? I CAN’T HEAR YOU SPEAK UP.

How apropos. A disaster drill on a day with real disasters (tornadoes). Hopefully the run through from earlier today prepared the school systems for the tornadoes taking place right now.
