buy nothing day

Things that I bought on Buy Nothing Day:

  • 5 quarts of motor oil
  • 1 oil filter
  • 6 ounces of fuel injector cleaner additive (this stuff is like chewing gum in the checkout aisle – you can’t help but buy it)
  • 1 6-pack of Miller High-Life Light.
  • 1 6-pack of Michelob Ultra

I bought a state auto inspection, a bag of pretzels, 12 cans of diet coke, a box of blueberry pop-tarts, three frozen pizzas, and a burrito from Anna’s (with chips & salsa).

That’s pretty close to nothing. But tasty.

So Chris, are you gonna jack up the car and change your oil before or after you drink all that beer? Please say after and please say you will have Amanda take pictures.

I went out of my way to try to buy things yesterday, but I couldn’t find anything I wanted. It was frustrating!

I went to my friends’ game store; I wanted to buy Weapons of the Gods but it hadn’t arrived yet. I wanted to buy a card box but they didn’t have any new ones in the size I wanted, so they gave me a used one for free.

Then I went to Borders and couldn’t find any books I wanted.

Rev you are a disappointment to consumers everywhere.

I KNOW :(

We bought Ghostbusters on DVD. What could be better?

We *so* already own that.

I bought the 26th anniversary edition of The Jerk but it hasn’t come yet.

I am the best consumer ever.

I bought an Xbox and 6 games.

Hmm, well damn forgot all about that, I should have done more than just gas for the car and some antiacids and few other drug store items that I forgot to pack. The spouse did most of the spending as I was birthday boy that day.

Why would you bother buying things on the day set out to be a “no buy stuff” day? It beats me.
