monte carlo?

Can anyone explain how the Chevy Monte Carlo ended up on the Consumer Reports most reliable list?

And while you’re at it, explain how the Nissan Quest wound up in the least reliable list.

A Chevy ended up on a realiability list?

My feet are cold…

well you know, throw enough stuff at the wall and something will stick.

Well, you know, the Monte Carlo is Chevy’s NASCAR stock car racer. Clearly the engineering they put into their race program has found its way into the commercial program. And you know, the technology in the car, frozen at a 1968 level, is well tested:

* The big carbureted pushrod V8 engine * The rear wheel drive chassis * The reliable manual transmission * The lightweight composite body on an alloy steel tube frame * And of course the specialization in turning left

All these factors have clearly combined to make a car superior in performance and reliability.
