new sounds stadium

So, via Brittney at NiT, I see that the Nashville Sounds Stadium downtown is a done deal.

This should be interesting, seeing as how the now vacant giant-field-of-sod where the stadium will go is right across 1st from my apartment complex. Here’s hoping they manage to keep 1st open relatively clear of construction equipment, unlike Demonbreun, which has unfortunately been closed between 3rd and 4th for the duration of the Schermerhorn symphony hall.

I am still trying to figure out how they are going to fit an entire stadium on that tract of land.

To the untrained eye, vacant land tends to look a lot smaller than it really is.

Are you in Market Street? I’m totally jealous. Those are gorgeous.

I’m ready for Demonbreun to open up.

Yep.. Moved back from south nashville in July..

I used to live in one of the 1-bdr when I was single and then we moved..

Now we’ve got one of the 2-bdr lofts. They are great, I love it. and my office is moving back downtown. can we say “walk to work”?!

Fortunately they are close to finishing up the work on demonbreun just in time to close off 2nd avenue. You can’t win.

If closing 2nd for a century is going to open it up so I can drive straight from the Gateway bridge and get to 8th/Vandy/Belmont without having to deal with Broadway, I will be happy to deal with it. It wouldn’t be so bad if the Demonbreun bridge by Cummins Station was open.

Ah, no, that explains a lot..
