I just e-mailed google:

Hi. I run a jabber server and I am interested in my users communicating with the
talk.google.com Jabber server.

Will you be enabling s2s communication any time soon? Isn’t this a bit like
launching gmail but only allowing gmail users to e-mail other gmail users?
