the perfect song

“I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)” by Hall and Oates is The Perfect Song.

Go ahead: try to name something that’s wrong with it. You can’t, because there is nothing wrong with it. I don’t know why musicians ever bother anymore. I am selling all my instruments and equipment. Perfection was achieved in 1981 with this song.

I always thought “Mary Anne” by Marshall Crenshaw was the perfect pop song. I think we need to send this one to committee.

Not long after I read this post, I heard a current song that samples this song. Coincidence?

Everything about Hall and Oats sucks, as do the eighties…..

You’re thinking of the 1840s, dude.

You know, for my money, “Method of Modern Love” and even “Adult Education” are better songs than “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)”. Not to mention the live version of “Wait For Me”.
