coke zero

I have tried both the new Diet Coke with splenda, and this Coke Zero stuff. I gotta say, as much as I like Splenda, Coke Zero is way better. This is sweetened with aspartame (like Diet Coke), with the addition of acesulfame potassium, which is frequently used in combination with aspartame.

I don’t particularly hate regular Diet Coke to begin with, but the acesulfame potassium really cuts the bitterness of the aftertaste or something. It’s much smoother.

And yes, I am aware of the humor in reviewing the “bouquet” of a combination of artificially sweetening chemicals that are probably pickling my innards as we speak.

too much cinnamon taste in the coke zero.

The coke zero has an after taste like the old diet colas

Drinking one now, and it just takes flat to me. Maybe I shouldn’t have bought two 12 packs.

It does taste flat, and a little like the rip-off colas. It’s okay, but I miss the fizzy taste and the carbonation going up in my sinuses ;)

It tastes like the ripoff colas because there is too much cinnamon!

Well… when you add rum, you can’t really tell the difference from Diet Coke, so we’re happy.

i love diet coke, and i thought it tasted gross, i didn’t even finish it!

I have to agree with Chris. I am a Diet Coke drinker and actually like Tab when I can find it. .

I didn’t like Diet Coke with Spenda at all but I thought Coke Zero was pretty good.

I’ll probably fall back to regular Diet Coke as I always do, but Coke Zero is a nice short term change now and then.

It’s not cinnamon you taste. It is cloves.

I think Coke Zero is an excellent product.

Coke Zero is another name for TAB! It’s great. Keep it coming!

Actually, TAB used saccharin originally and then aspartame. It never used acesulfame potassium to my knowledge.

I don’t understand Coca-Cola at all. Why do they need so many different varieties of Coke?? What ever happened to just regular Coke, and Diet Coke? What is all this new crap!? Most people end up going back to either regular Coke or Diet Coke anways. I think its stupid!

Love it!!!!!The best so far. I never liked Diet Coke that much anyway but love Coke so it is great to me. I can’t find it in 12 packs yet but can’t wait, just hope it is not more expensive like the C2(which I also like but costs more).

It is really good if it is chilled, not good at all if it is warm. It doesn’t compare to diet coke(nasty).Has much better taste, but then again I’d rather drink Tab if I can find it.

Coke ZERO is just Coca-Cola company’s reply to Pepsi’s ONE with Splenda. ONE has both splenda and Acesulfame potassium in it.

I agree with Mike - its like TAB - The Acesulfame potassium gives it the bite/sweet zing of saccharine but also that aftertaste though less prominant. You gotta figure when Coke made Tab it used much of the Coke formula and Diet Coke was different. I also think it has less carbination. It is more like coke with a nice start and zing but the aftertase is still with me for a while when its gone…

I’m with Robin, after you add the booze (Crown Royal, Jack Daniels), you can’t tell a lot of difference between regular Diet Coke and Coke Zero. The Diet Coke with Splenda - sucks, can’t stand it. The Diet Coke with lemon/lime is good with rum. Drink up!

C2 is half a can filled with Coke, the other half with water. Brilliant for Coke and a terrible joke played on the consumer. Diet Coke belongs to the cream soda family while Coke Zero is more of a Cola. According to Malcom Gladwell (IT Conversations), people prefer the sweeter soft drink if they take one sip, but prefer something less sweet if they chug a whole can. Coke is being smart. I like the after-taste of Coke Zero better. Seems to be sweeter in the mid-range, rather than so peircing in the high range–the effect I get with Diet Coke. - [email protected]

I really like Coke Zero! I always liked Diet Coke, but I like this more. To me it tastes like that Clear Pepsi stuff that was circulating around in the early 90’s. I was very disappointed when it disappeared. Seems to me it’s back, under the name Coke Zero; yay.

coke zero is great! finally i can drink a 0 calorie soda without all that after taste. i’m definitely switching to this!

So many new and exciting ways to get cancer!!!!!

In Europe they have Coke Lite instead of Diet Coke. For years I have said it tastes better than our Diet Coke and more like the real thing. When I tried Zero it tastes just like Coke Lite.

I just tried the Coke Zero. It does not taste like regular coke to me. But it also doesn’t have the nasty taste of all diet sodas. Does have a little bit of an after taste though. I don’t understand how they can make sugar free icecream taste so good but yet they can not do the same with soda.

I’m looking forward to giving Coke Zero a shot. I applaud Coke for trying new ways to make a better zero calorie product. But like others, I too can’t understand how they can’t seem to figure out a way to get rid of that disgusting after taste. They should maybe talk to the Murray cookie company. Their sugar-free products are indistinguishable from the regular kinds. God bless C2 by the way. It’s awesome.

Four people in my office, all diet soda drinkers, did a blind taste test with Coke, Diet Coke, DC w/Splenda, C2 and Zero (clearly a slow day at work). We all picked Zero as our favorite diet version. I have to admit, though, that I very surprised–drinking it blind I could clearly distinguish DC and DC w/ Splenda, but the other three were very, very similar–I was the only one who figured out which was which…

First of all, sugar free ice cream is B.A.D. This tastes funny to me, but as a die hard diet coke fan, I think I’ll stick with the original! DC with Splenda tastes like regular coke to me…too sweet after making the switch to regular. This also tastes a bit sweeter, and flatter as a previous person said.

Coke Zero is a zero with me. It tastes like Pepsi.

Coke Zero is the best diet soda I’ve tried so far. It is not too sweet like most diets.

You know, I was in Denmark drinking their “Coke Light” and I knew something was different because I couldnt stop guzzling the stuff. I have always thought the after taste.. (hell, the DURING taste too) of regular DC was repulsive. Gouldnt get that freakin nasty-ass after taste out of my mouth. Once back in the states, it only took one sip of Coke Zero to realize that is the same stuff I had overseas. Yum. I love it so much, I even soak my genitals in it.

Tastes good to me, course I drink one carbonated beverage a week. So I give Coke props on this product.

The reason sugar-free ice cream tastes good is that it’s still got plenty fat in it.

However I recently moved from the UK to the US and didn’t notice any difference in diet coke - i’m still convinced that regular coke is different in the UK from anywhere else in the world though. My working hypothesis is that new coke must have succeeded in britain and we kept it :)

I really like Coke Zero as well. I must not have a distinguishing palette b/c I don’t taste cinnamon or cloves. But I love this stuff! I never enjoyed Diet Coke, so this is a nice calorie free version of the real thing!

The people at Coca-Cola are savvy marketers. I copyrighted the term “savvy marketer” so you owe me a nickel every time you say it! Gosh how I wish that was true.

I LOVE Coke Zero. As a former Coke Classic drinker, I’ve been struggling to learn to like diet coke. I’ve never gotten there. I was excited to hear about Coke with Splenda. That didn’t do much for me although it was somewhat better than regular diet. Now that I’ve found Coke Zero I can finally say I’ve found a diet replacement for Coke Classic. Tastes sweet with little or no acidity and aftertast. Great idea Coca-Cola Company!

I like coke zero in my culo - wow

Diet Coke is “New” Coke with artificial sweetener. Diet Pepsi is Pepsi with artificial sweetener. Coke was smart to dump New Coke, and with their marketing (Sprite outsells 7-up, purely on marketing), Diet Coke is the top-selling diet soda, even though it DOES taste like cream soda.

Coke Zero and DC with Splenda are more like real Coke Classic. I haven’t determined if it’s as close to regular as Diet Pepsi is to Pepsi, but at least it’s better than bland Diet Coke.

Great change..loved the taste of ZERO>

I love it! Finally there is a 0 calorie Coca-Cola that tastes like regualr Coke. I could never convince myself to like the taste of diet, so this is great for me.

Zero kind of tastes like a flat coke, and even burned a little going down. Doesn’t have the aftertaste of Diet Coke. I like it!!!

Coke Zero has the same nasty after taste as ALL the diet cokes. Nice try, I’ll just keep drinking regular Coke and stay fat and happy!

Yay! Finally I can stop feeling guilty for disliking the Diet Coke which is supposed to be better for me! Cold Coke Zero tastes so much like regular Coke - even has that same little “burn.” But a word of caution - DON’T drink it warm! Doesn’t have the same taste at ALL then!

Front end tastes like it’s trying to be regular Coke. Back end tastes like, well, back end. Word to Coke’s mother: drop that zero and stick with the hero (that being DC).

First of all, Coke Zero does NOT taste like cream soda, that’s what A&W is for. As a devote of all things Diet Coke, Zero is the BEST diet out there. I have finally found a diet coke that tastes like it comes out of a fountain at McDonalds. All the other Diet Coke variations from bottle or can have a high sodium taste to it. Zero is as close as I’m going to get to having a six button soda dispenser in my house.

Hey marketing gurus at Coke, Atlanta….Don’t screw this up! Blow some of the other varients off the shelves and leave Zero alone! You finally got something here.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Diet Coke with Splenda ia just NASTY!!! Counting carbs and want the splenda soda stick with Diet Rite.

Let me first say Coke is number one in my book. I drink diet soda because of the calorie count. I tried Diet Coke with Splenda and found it taseted way better than regular diet coke but all I kept thinking about was that I could not wait for Coke Zero. What a great concept, a diet soda that tastes like the real thing. Words can not describe how disappointed I was with Coke Zero. I purchased 3 bottles and could not finish the first one and threw the other 2 bottles out after I decided that I would not drink it. The aftertaste was horrific. Coke needs to reformulate the new product because “It Stinks”!!!!!!

Finally a zero cal soda that doesn’t make my mouth feel like I licked old junk yard metal!

My thoughts: Coke is nasty, I’ve been drinking diet coke since pharmacy school 15+ years. 1 hour drive in the morning with 2 cans. Diet Coke with Splenda: nasty aftertaste (limey?) DC Lemon: tastes like Pledge, same for Lime. Vanilla DC? like a glade air freshener. Traveled Europe, hated the Coke Lite. I will keep an open mind if/when I try Coke Zero this weekend.

I’m not a diet coke drinker, I drink regular sodas.. but I want something that doesn’t have the after taste of a diet cola. I’ve tried the diet coke with splenda, it still tasted diet. I think Zero tastes a lot like regular coke. As close as a low calorie soda has come anyway. I like it. And whoever said it tasted like TAB?? Not even close.. I hate TAB, Zero tasts absolutely nothing like TAB.

I think Coke Zero rocks. The best tasting diet pop by far. You folks are nuts!

I like Coke Zero, it tastes pretty good. I drink all the other diet coke products like the lime, lemone, cherry, and regular flavors. I like to fluctuate through all of them and I’m glad I have another one to add to the list. I didn’t really like the splenda diet coke though.

I like Coke Zero…Coca-Cola, You finally have something here. Finally a zero cal soda that doesn’t make my mouth feel nasty, like the taste of all diet sodas.

Coke Zero is excellent . . . definitely tastes very close to a regular coke.

Most people do not realize that coke, and other coke products, are formulated for each location in which they are sold. For instance; a coke in Germany will taste different than one from Great Brittian. I’m not positive, but I think there are even some subtle differences around the U.S. The point is, they do taste tests in different parts of the world so that each area has a custom-made coke.

i thought it tasted just like coke does from a soda fountain…really great, so much better than diet coke and way better than anything with splenda. it might be less carbonated than regular diet coke, but i prefer it that way.

and matt is right, coke in Atlanta does taste different than coke in California.

My husband and I are Coca-Cola Classic ADDICTS - and this new Coke Zero is a lifesaver! The taste is too good to pass up for having no calories. I have a tip for those who want to try to cut calories, but still aren’t too keen on the taste: Start by mixing 1/2 Coke Classic with 1/2 Coke Zero. Add lots of ice!. It’ll cut the calories in half, help you use up your old Classic 12-packs, and hopefully it can grow on you. (Not literally of course!)

I really think the cola companies are afraid of making a diet cola that really tastes like regular cola because a large majority will switch over. So they make diet colas with a nasty aftertaste, watered down and nothing that tastes like the “real thing” - Thier way to punish diet drinkers for not drinking thier cheaper to make (with corn syrup) sugared colas.

That said Coke Zero is a big improvement over diet coke, which hasnt changed much since the early 80s when Coke started using Nutrasweet (Aspertame). Pepsi has kept improving the taste of thier Diet Pepsi over the years, but Coke did nothing until this year when they got into financial trouble.

Now I wish they would change the formulas of thier “Diet Coke With Vanilla/Cherry/Lemon” to use Coke Zero as the base. A “Cherry Coke Zero” would be very tasty.

Coke Zero is #1. I love it! It taste just like Coke Classic…but lighter! Way to go COKE!

i got home tonight and saw a bottle of coke zero in my fridge and thought i would try it, expecting it to taste just like diet coke under a new name. to my surprise, it tasted like real coke. i don’t drink soda with sugar in it, and havent for 3 years now– so i had to check the label to make sure it didn’t have any sugar or calories twice. i am addicted to diet cherry coke, and found that this coke zero tastes like the diet cherry coke without the cherry flavor, and more of a cinnamon bite. it was good, and i probably couldn’t tell the difference if paired up with real coke.

I am thrilled with Coke Zero. As as a regular Coke junkie who is diabetic..I am thrilled to find something that really tastes like regular Coke. Kudos to the Coke Company for creating something so tasty for us Coke junkies. Good health is on the horizon.

Coke Zero is great! I grew up drinking Coco Cola and am a loyal fan of the classsic, but………the Diet Coke varieties leave such an awful aftertaste it’s just not worth having one.

I hate any type of soda in plastic so am hoping to find Coke Zero in cans.

Coke Classic and Coke Zero = Wonderful!

As a juvenile diabetic I’ve been looking for a diet soda that tastes like a ‘real’ soda and finally there is one!! Thanks to coke for making a diet soda that doesn’t taste like crap!!!! I liked Diet Coke but it has now been replaced in my frige by Coke Zero.

I just spent a year in Europe and feel in love with Coke Light. This is the closest thing here in the US. I will have to have a few bottles of Coke Light shipped to me to conduct a side by side taste test.

I agree with many of the other replies. I also had Coca Cola Light when I was in Switzerland and was pleasently surprised that Coke zero seemed to have the same formula! I think it tastes much more like regular Coke.

One thing nobody has mentioned is that a lot of the Cola Wars (and this is NOT limited to soft drinks; breakfast cereal is another example) are about competing for shelf space. If Coke says “Here’s a new product” the retailer may fear retaliation if refusing to carry the new item… and unless Coke simultaneously dropped another item the retailer had been stocking, the retailer has to dump someone else’s product off the shelf to make room. Anyone notice that some of the big soda companies are all of a sudden selling familiar products in “energy drink” (think “Red Bull”) size cans, or stubby cans that look like a regular can chopped in half? Just another means of bumping another company with less “clout” off the shelf. So when you see new formulas showing up on the shelves, it isn’t necessarily about trying to find a new taste that consumers will love.

Coke light is a completely different animal. It’s made with vegetable extract and doesn’t have phosphoric acid so its missing the “bite” that Diet Coke in the states has.

High levels of this amino acid in body fluids can cause brain damage. Therefore, FDA has ruled that all products containing aspartame must include a warning to phenylketonurics that the sweetener contains phenylalanine.

Sucralose is an artificial sweetener

Coke Zero tastes almost identical to the origional Coke (aka, Coke Classic). I agree with those who are excited about this product. It tastes better than Diet Coke made with Splenda. Wikipedia has an interesting bit on Coke Zero’s history, and why Diet Coke tastes so bad.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…

I just read a blurb in Fast Company magazine about all the Coke products cluttering the shelves. The article said that Coke Zero actually tasted like Coca-Cola Classic. I doubted that this was true, but gave it a try anyway. To my surprise it DOES taste exactly like regular Coca-Cola. It’s wonderful! I, too, have kicked myself for not being able to stick with Diet Coke. I’ve tried to force myself to drink it, but I always go back to regular Coca-Cola Classic. NOT THIS TIME! COKE ZERO is my new cola!

I have tried both Coke Zero and Diet Coke with Splenda and don’t like either one. The Splenda version tastes a lot like a lemon/lime soda. As far as the Coke Zero…I’ve been drinking diet soda for probably 35 years. I switched from Diet Pepsi to Diet Coke when Pepsi changed their formula. I love Diet Coke, but the Zero version leaves an aftertaste that I don’t get with ANY diet soda except Tab. Neither one is a hit with me and I just want my regular Diet Coke back. Frankly, these changes may turn me back into a Diet Pepsi drinker.

I was a major Coke drinker until Diabetes struck. I drank Diet Coke, but preferred Diet Pepsi (even though I HATE regular Pepsi). Then I visited the states and tried DC with Splenda and Coke Zero. I use Splenda in everything, so I think it’s more sugar-like in flavour. I bought two 12-packs. Coke Zero was even better. The people who don’t like Splenda are just so used to not consuming sugar that they prefer aspartame, but splenda is as close as it gets to sugar. I do like Coke Zero, though. It tastes more like Coke Classic than any other soda. Now we have to convince them to make it available here in Canada.

I live in Italy and like Coke Light MUCH more than Diet Coke. It tastes like the orginal Coke. Look forward to tasting Coke Zero, but for me, bring on the Coke Light!

Sorry about my spelling, Im not an author.. i sell coke for a living.

In the USA Diet coke cans/bottles - new coke sweetened with aspartame diet coke fountain - new coke sweetened with aspartame/sacharinne (check fast food websites for ingredients if you dont belive me, they do it for longer shelf life) coke zero - coke classic sweetnened with aspartame/ace-k with a “crisper” taste diet coke w/ spenda - new coke with splenda / ace-k. Like all splenda soda’s it taste like diet RC

Outside the US

Diet Coke / Coke Light - varies by country. Different sweeteners. Some times tastes like classic, sometimes new coke.

One note.. I work for a coke bottler and we recently discovered that coke zero has a expiration date that goes much longer than it should. It begins to take like crap about a month before its expiration date.

I love Coke Classic – chilled and without ice (no dilution). None of these diet stuff can hold a candle to the Classic. Zero is OK, but has a sickly sweet after taste, that pisses me off. Diet Coke…don’t even talk about it. Classic is still the king…my search for that perfect cola is still on…

hi.Im doing a science project on coca cola’s acid. I just want to know if the acid in soda can cause a disease called phenylktonuria if you drink too much. Any answers?

oh, yeah COKE ZERO IS #1!

Zero is great. I’m a dyed-in-the-wool Coke fan. Hated New Coke and even went so far as to switch to RC or Pepsi when all I could get was New Coke. Could never stand Diet Coke. I tried and tried. C2 was a great first step, and Zero is just wonderful. Both are based on the original Coke formula (the Classic Coke formula), whereas Diet Coke is based on the New Coke formula. Still drink C2 (although I hear rumours it’ll be phased out), but mostly I drink Zero. Guilt free, carb free, great tasting cola. Works for me.

Love the Coke Zero a lot. Hate the Diet and the Diet w/splenda. Read that Coke Zero was based on the original Coke classic formula while Diet Coke never was based on it it was a totally new formula that eventually they made into Coke2. I just feel it tastes more like a “real” cola ;less after taste and makes me not feel so “deprived” having to drink diet.I hope every one tries it and loves it and they keep making it easily available and accessable for good!

There should have never been “Diet Coke.” Or, better yet, what’s now Coke One should replace Diet Coke. After all Sprite and Diet Sprite, Dr. Pepper and Diet Dr. Pepper and any other type of regular/vs diet soda taste the same except for the sweeter used. The Coca Cola Company should have been consistent with Coke and Diet Coke from the beginning.

I have always said, “Never Diet.” I would give up Coke all together rather than drink a Diet Coke, or Diet anything. This morning I bought an 8-pack of Coke Zero in plastic (hate cans). While I do sense a small after taste, I can’t say it’s bad. Well chilled and eating, I would totally forget it was Zero. I was wondering when I would have to give up Coke, now maybe I don’t ever have to. Thanks Coke, with the name Zero, I still don’t have say Diet!

I am addicted to coke zero. I live in Atlanta where it was introduced first, and I have never looked back. I used to drink 5 or more cans of regular coke a day. Now, since zero tastes just like regular, I can drink that much without feeling guilty. I do think that the colder Zero is, the more it tastes like regular.

Just had my 3rd bottle. I like the taste compared to DC. It does resemble “the real thing” more than any other diet drink I’ve tried. The aftertaste is still there, but not nearly as severe as with DC. I do think Coke is onto something. I hope it replaces Diet Coke as the standard.

its got sort of a pepsi taste to it. as long as its sugar free i’m happy lol.

Just tried Zero for first time. Too sweet. Feel the same way about regular Coke (sort that’s available in New Zealand). Guess I’ve just got used to the refreshing but not too sweet taste of Diet Coke.

That may cause an explosive reaction.

i have read a lot of the comments that some of you have submitted. i would like to know why soem of you have such a devotion to any “diet” product. surely it is better to drink the real stuff when you really want it and then water if you feel you have overdone a bit in the diet stakes. i think you have all missed the essential truth that, no matter what rubbish coke,or pepsi or most other soft drinks producers manufacture they will have a client base that will keep buying it. Break the cycle and drink an espresso with no sugar if you fancy a hit. Remember we all managed not to die of thirst long before coke opened up shop. Dont let these people who had to be told to remove cocaine from their products determine what you drink. Go natural, learn how these drinks are made. When you see how big the pile of chemicals is to make this stuff then i know you will think again. Sugar is a wimp compared to the damge these puppies can do. i dare anyone to tell me what aspartame actually is? if you knew you would not really want to drink it. “Aspartame, used in most diet drinks, is sold as NutraSweet and Equal. It’s not as sweet as saccharin and is more expensive. Through the years, it has been blamed for a host of conditions, including brain tumors, seizures, birth defects, multiple sclerosis and lupus, though there’s no evidence to back up these claims. Some people also report side effects such as headaches, dizziness and indigestion, but NO ONE knows how widespread they are. The only proven risk is to the small number of people with conditions, such as advanced liver disease, that cause problems metabolizing phenylalanine, an amino acid in aspartame.” People with the disorder phenylketonuria (PKU) are unable to metabolize phenylalanine, so they must avoid aspartame. As for Acesulfame potassium, it is actually 200 times sweeter than sugar and is used solely to disguise the fact the other additives and sweeteners taste so artificial. luckily for you the body does not change Acesulfame potassium so it passes through without breaking down. 200 times more fattening than a normal can of coke though, would be fun to see. Acesulfame potassium is sold as Sunett and Sweet One and as the tabletop product Sweet One. In some products it’s combined with other sweeteners. Unlike aspartame, it doesn’t break down when heated, so it can be used for baking. It has been tesed less thoroughly than aspartame, so researchers tend to know LESS about it. How reassuring. i do not drink these products. you dont need to either…

thanks for the medical history of cola, dr. dom. do you really think people who drink these products could care less about the ingredients? We drink them because we enjoy them. Let’s just live in a big bubble and be done with it, eh?

WOW! I had always said the same thing and no one believed me but it’s true! Coke Zero IS Coke Lite. I even wrote to Coke once and suggested they sell it here and they sent back a form letter telling me that Americans preferred the nasty after taste of Diet Coke. (????)

Coke Zero is the best diet soft drink since diet Dr. Pepper and for the same reason: it tastes very close to its sugary brother. My wife and I are long-time diet Pepsi drinkers, and although we still drink that, our soda of choice is now Coke Zero. I love classic coke, but I was never fond of Diet Coke because it has no cola taste. Coke Zero has a lot of flavor and no after-taste that I can detect. Over ice, it’s especially smashing. Thanks Coke, CZ is winner of a beverage.

This entry is way up there (fourth or fifth) when you type “Coke Zero” into Google. As I read the above posts this evening I was struck by a couple of thoughts. I thought I’d put them out there as food for thought. I thought it was interesting that the author of this blog didn’t want to post regarding “Coke Zero” because of the excess replies, etc. Now look at it. Funny. I also noticed that as far back as a year and a couple months, people were complaining about the “flat” taste. Reviews at the beginning are very mixed. Then, abruptly, almost all comments became positive. I’d bet money that Coke was reviewing the internet posts and revised their formula due to focus groups, etc. Maybe even because of the posts in this blog. And for the record, I am a huge fan. Love it. If you look at the posts from the “fear mongers” about the tumors, etc., it is obvious that they have a preexisting bias against anything with chemicals in it. (I suppose they are referring to chemicals NOT found freely in nature since almost everything is a chemical; even water (H2O)) The studies that people refer to when stating that newly created chemicals cause tumors, cancer, (and probably acid rain and the decline of western society) are studies when scientists stuffed animals with 1000s of times the amounts that a human could ever consume, all inside of a few weeks. These type of studies have since been strongly discredited. For instance, when the same scientists do tests on things like water, they find- you guessed it, water causes cancer. As does almost anything else! For more info, read John Stossel’s new book (I can’t remember the exact title but it is something like: Lies, Myths and Outright Deceptions). My conclusion? Coke Zero tastes great! I think it’s close enough to Coca Cola that I really don’t taste a difference (although I haven’t done the blind taste test). Keep up the good work Coca Cola! Now how about a caffeine free version? I’d drink more Zero if I could drink it up until bed.

I have to say I agree with you on this one. I’m kicking the regular Coke habit for a month and I didn’t want to dial it all the way back to Diet Coke. So I figured Coke Zero would be the happy medium – so far so good. :)

I’m a big Coca-Cola Classic drinker. Diet Coke gives me uncontrollable flatus that makes me reverse gravity. Finally with Coke Zero I have found what I have been looking for… the taste of Coke classic without having to levitate over the can! :-p

I am just into my second litre of warm flat Diet Coke - no booze tonight unfortunately - I think Suzanne is a great name!

I agree ! In this day and age a sugarless soft drink should taste as good as regular. It’s the sugar cartel! Just think how much sugar is used in all the sugared drinks ! and: COKE ZERO- ZERO CALORIES AND ZERO TASTE !

Yuck I would never drink anything with ratpoison in it diet soda is nasty

Thank you Dom, that was a very interesting read i am a drinker of coke and i like to be armed with any infomantion i can get reguardless of how bad it sounds :)

Been drinking Zero for about two months now. Have to say tastes good but with the good taste came extreme bloat and gas. Not to mention that I have gained 10 lbs. Whats up with that? Thought it was suppose to be diet. I have now stopped drinking it and already feel better, but the weight I believe is going to be hard to shed. Damn it!

diet coke was based on the “new” coke formula from the 80’s       Coke Zero is based on the original Coke (aka coke classic).  I cannot stand diet coke it doesn’t taste good at all to me… not even from a fountain.    However i didn’t like the “new” coke either.   This is straight from the coke Cola peeps.
