nashville history

Brittney links to some good historic photos of Nashville. As I’ve mentioned there as well, this guy’s site is pretty incredible, with lots of recent stuff as well. My favorite though is his Nashville Memories page which documents a bunch of stuff that I am entirely too young and too-originally-from-wisconsin to remember, but it’s interesting nonetheless.

And a very brief book recommendation: If you are into local history as I am, Bill Casey’s “Fortunes, Fiddles and Fried Chicken: A Business History of Nashville” is a fascinating book. I think you can still get copies of it at Davis Kidd.

Ooh I saw that book! I didn’t get a chance to flip through it but it looked interesting.

If anything it made me hungry.
